Current Poll Numbers

Goodsong 18%
Mayor Goodsong maintains his commanding lead following the first debate. Despite bleeding votes from his home region as news about the other candidates spreads, his show of generosity in handing out free beer has only served to increase his popularity with the common folk.

Endergaard 17%

Lady Katja took somewhat of a hit during the debate with her non-answer regarding economic policy, but the announced tournament has increased her popularity with the commoners, and she is now nearly neck-and-neck with Mayor Goodsong.

Valentine 13%

Lady Valentine failed to make a significant impact during the first debate, and she has begun to lose ground as others are climbing rapidly.

Rathbone 13%

Lady Rathbone has been the surprise success story of the first debate, enticing merchants and commoners alike with the promises of what a more magical society might bring.

Pendragon 12%

Though support from the nobility continues to peal away as Pendragon solidifies his stance on the relief fund, more commoners are flocking to Pendragon for his sympathetic attitude and charismatic presentation.

Hammerhand 12%

Thane Hammerhand in many ways dominated the first debate, rarely leaving another candidates response unanswered by his own, crude remarks. While many nobles view this behavior as inappropriate for a statesman, the common folk, and particularly those of his home region, have flocked to him for his strong attitude.

Chryserys 10%

Chryserys made a rather forgettable performance during the first debate, and her numbers have suffered for it. She has also lost a good deal of home support, as so many of her own people were able to get better looks at other candidates.

Fullerstar 5%

While still considered a non-contender, Lord Mannfred gained some notoriety for his pre-debate speech, standing up to Clunk and the perceived non-neutrality of the moderator.

Candidate Entourages
All of the candidates are bringing trusted advisers, bodyguards, and friends with them on the campaign trail. This is a list of some of the more notable individuals from each candidate's entourage.

Goodsong:

Jordy Hudson: A prominent and successful cattle rancher from Reata Ranch outside of Calaunt. Supports Mayor Goodsong's campaign with significant sums of capital.

Valriel Vancal: A Dragonborn apothecary from Alma's Orchard, ostensibly kept around for tinctures which make the mayor feel "spry as a spring chicken." Suspected mistress.

Valentine:

Smiling Sam Cosmo: A popular crooning bard in Tantras, Sam often appears publicly with Mayor Valentine, supporting an image of a decadent, jet-set lifestyle. Suspected alcoholic.

Tony "Daggertooth" Menza: Mayor Valentine's top bodyguard. Lives in a lavish penthouse in Tantras, courtesy of the mayor. Name comes from a dagger point in place of his upper left canine.

Fullerstar:

Bors Kennard: Lord Fullerstar's hunstman, and the huntsman for his father before him. Uncouth in appearance but understands noble etiquette well enough. Highly valued for his counsel.

Sir Albert Greenwood: A young knight who has taken command of Greenwood Watch since Gilbert Fullerstar's "execution". Very eager to impress and filled with knightly ideals.

Pendragon:

Rila Thatcher: Orphaned maiden from Riverwood Watch, currently residing at Dragonroost. Presumably being brought along to describe the plight of the peasants.

Sir Giles Rowley: Current lord of Riverwood Watch following his father's death during the zombie apocalypse. One of the few nobles who supports Lord Pendragon's emergency fund tax.

Endergaard:

Sir Agon Bronzefist: A dwarf who was knighted by Lady Endergaard during the Impilturian Civil War. A competent field commander and current commander of the garrison at Last Hearth, on the border with Thar. One of the few dwarves from the reach who supports Lady Endergaard over Thane Hammerhand.

Lady Quinley Foxhall, "The Mountain Fox": Lady Endergaard's top strategist, and a formidable fighter. Friends with Lady Endergaard since childhood. Persistent gossip that the two may be lovers.

Hammerhand:

Grammil Firegut: A dwarven foreman who is the current head of the Earthspur Guard, an unofficial militia of Thane Hammerhand's most fervent supporters. Not afraid of being aggressive and even violent with opponents and law enforcement.

Towin Coghouse: A gnomish economist who Thane Hammerhand has taken quite a liking too since he suggested that Grand Halen's economy was endangered by being so open to foreign markets. Very meek compared to the rest of the Hammerhand campaign.

Rathbone

Priscilla & Benjamin: Lady Rathbone's personal bodyguards. Very little is known about them, but they have already received great attention for their striking good looks and statuesque physiques. Thoroughly stoic and disciplined in all interactions.

Cycros Bleeding-Eye: Lady Rathbone's court wizard. His name stems from the blood that pools in his irises, causing them to appear mottled and red. Likely related to his upbringing in the Purple Wastes. Learned magic at the Grand College of the Heavens in High Imaskar.

Current Poll Numbers

Goodsong 20%
Much of Mayor Goodsong's early success is owed to his established popularity amongst the common folks and non-guild merchants of his home region, which is the most populous of Grand Halen.

Mary Ironarm (http://dndgurnee.createaforum.com/npc's/mary-ironarm/)

Ol' Drippy (http://dndgurnee.createaforum.com/npc's/ol'-drippy/)

Endergaard 19%

Lady Katja's support stems largely from the devotion of the commoners of her home region following her heroics during the zombie apocalypse, as well as plenty of support from noble houses who respect her as the head of an old and venerable house.

Notable Supporters:
Lord Commander Anders (http://dndgurnee.createaforum.com/npc's/anders/)
Shepard Family (http://dndgurnee.createaforum.com/npc's/aisha-shepard/)
Aaron Ironarm (http://dndgurnee.createaforum.com/npc's/aaron-ironarm/)

Valentine 17%

Lady Valentine's success so far has been a great surprised to the established ruling nobility, and seems to stem mainly from the support of the large merchant and common folk populations of Tantras. Whether or not this support is genuine or garnered through bribes and intimidation is a source of much speculation.

Notable Supporters:
Yoba Mago (http://dndgurnee.createaforum.com/npc's/yoba-mago/)

Chryserys 11%

Though not especially popular at home due to recent dire economic circumstances, Chryserys is still widely liked by common folk throughout Grand Halen, who appreciate the stability her continued rule would bring, and who also view her rulership as an extension of that of the well loved Rognvaldr. She also enjoys moderate support among the noble houses for her reluctance to meddle in the affairs of their home regions.

Notable Supporters:
King Delphinius (http://dndgurnee.createaforum.com/npc's/king-delphinius-of-denerim/)
Theodora Andronikus (http://dndgurnee.createaforum.com/npc's/theodora-andronikus/)

Rathbone 10%

While not a particularly popular person, Lady Rathbone has nonetheless proven to be a moderately popular candidate. She enjoys the benefits of a fairly loyal populace from her home region, as well as the confidence of many noble houses for her efficient and pragmatic leadership style.

Pendragon 10%

As expected, much of Lord Pendragon's success comes from the immense support of the commoners he rules over, as well as the support of many nobles who are loyal to his old and venerable house.

Notable Supporters:
FSC Castle Peasants (http://dndgurnee.createaforum.com/npc's/castle-peasants/)

Hammerhand 9%

Despite Thane Hammerhand's decidedly Dwarven attitudes, he nonetheless enjoys great support from merchants who look favorably on his protectionist economic policy, as well as a fair amount of commoners who feel that Grand Halen's identity is threatened by recent influxes of immigrants and refugees.

Notable Supporters:
FSC Dwarven Miners (http://dndgurnee.createaforum.com/npc's/dwarven-miners/)

Fullerstar 3%

Despite his great popularity amongst the nobility, and even moderate support from merchants, Lord Manfred has been unable to gain traction amongst the much more populous commoners, and this has left him mostly out of competition for the time being.

Calaunt

Mayor Engelbert “Bert” Goodsong
Mayor of Calaunt for the past 20 years. Father Gumphry was also Mayor. Widely regarded as a mayor of the people. Stereotypical love of drink and food, which he passes on to his people in the forms of frequent public games and festivals. Despite his image as a simple country man, he is actually a shrewd businessman, having elevated Calaunt’s economy to one of the strongest in Grand Halen, rivaled only by Tantras. Has been accused of cronyism, but has continued to maintain an effective government nonetheless. Widely liked by commoners (but not by guild merchants) for his public refusal of a bribe by the Guild of Wainwrights.

Geoffrey’s Network Knowledge:
Often uses his political influence to lean on businesses, not only for public good, but also for personal profit.
Makes frequent stops at the house of a female Dragonborn apothecary. Likely mistress. Recon to confirm pending agent approval.
Since he announced his candidacy, Mayor Goodsong has been receiving moderately large sums of gold from an acting troupe known as "The Indigo-go's". No further information about this group has been found at this time, but further investigation is possible, pending agent approval.

Tantras

Mayor Ruby Valentine, “The Tantras Temptress”
Widely suspected of being the head of Tantras’ large protection racket, brothel network, liquor monopoly, Ruby Valentine is a name often spoken in Tantras, and around Grand Halen in general, with a mixture of reverence and fear. Known for her stunning good looks and irresistible charm, many a man has made the mistake of underestimating her iron will, often with deadly consequences. Feelings about Mayor Valentine are very mixed, with some merchants and commoners reveling in the blind eye she turns to the more illicit activities that happen in Tantras, while others are vexed by the protection fees squeezed out by the gang affiliated heavies that roam the streets. Nobles throughout Grand Halen are equally mixed in their opinions, some disgusted by her lax attitude about law and order, others delighted by her lavish bribes and honeyed words. Nevertheless, many people have been enticed by her talk of vastly increasing the region’s wealth by making Grand Halen a more appealing port of call for merchant vessels than Ilha Mercador. As she puts it, “We’ve got goods and services in spades here, no reason those fine young sailors oughta be getting chiseled by those snowed-up lizards."

Geoffrey’s Network Knowledge:

Undoubtedly the top boss of the Tantras mob, largely responsible for establishing the mobs dominance in the city over Golden Dragon agents several years ago.
Origins prior to rise to power unknown, but could be investigated, at possible significant risk to agents. Awaiting agent approval.

Bardertown

Queen Chryserys
Though a fair Queen who has done much for her people, Chryserys is largely unpopular amongst commoners and nobles alike. She had the misfortune of being the head of the government during the undead plague, and though recovery has progressed a great deal, many blame Chrysyres for Grand Halen not being at fully recovered already. Many also find her method of assuming power distasteful— she was never elected, assuming power only after Rognvaldr fell into a coma, and fear that she is attempting to create a hereditary position for her family. Nevertheless, she has developed a strong attachment to the people of Grand Halen, and fears what might happen if the government falls into the hands of more reactionary figures.

Geoffrey’s Network Knowledge:
Chryserys was once the thrall of an ancient vampire spirit. This knowledge could be detrimental to her campaign if made public.
Damaran Nationalists are eager to reinstall Chryserys, seeing her as the most likely candidate to support their efforts to regain independence from Cormyr.
Messaging frequency of known Shou delegates and agents in the region has increased since Chryserys announced her intentions to run. Intercept of messages possible, though this could tip our hand to the Shou. Awaiting agent approval.

Briarhall

Lord Manfred Fullerstar
Lord of what is considered a backwater territory by most of the other nobility in Grand Halen, Manfred Fullerstar is nevertheless a candidate widely popular amongst other nobles, primarily for his expressed interest in expanding the power and independence of the nobility, in order to strengthen the rule of law throughout the land. This popularity took a hit, however, when he made the highly controversial decision to execute his brother Gilbert for theft and aiding criminals. He is also popular amongst southern merchants, for his crackdowns on highway robbery and banditry. The common folk, however, generally fear Manfred, as he is by no means a personable ruler, and his most public actions are often harsh sentences on criminals, many of whom come from among the ranks of the commoners.

Geoffrey’s Network Knowledge:
Manfred did not, in fact, execute his brother, but rather exiled him to the town of Woodfork. Making this knowledge public would certainly undermine his credibility.
Manfred is highly motivated by a desire to live up to the legendary image of his lord father, widely known as an unflinching hand of justice.
Despite his outward appearance of cold an calculating confidence, Manfred is, in fact, quite unsure of his abilities as a governor, and often seeks council from his wife.

Dragon Falls

Lord Arthur Pendragon
Lord of one of the oldest houses in the peninsula, Arthur Pendragon was born into the respect of the nobility, respect only furthered by his eloquence, charm, and early success at various tournaments. Seen as very honorable and personable ruler, he has close personal ties with many members of the major ruling families throughout Grand Halen and Impiltur, as well as most of the minor houses as well. The common folk also look upon him with great admiration, as he has always held his duty to his subjects as his highest priority. This duty has, however, as of late led many nobles to be wary of his ambitions for the crown: Pendragon has said that he would seek to limit the tax that nobles may levy their subjects with, as well as to establish an emergency relief fund to assist the nation in recovering from disasters such as the recent undead plague, payed for in part out of the already diminished noble land taxes.

Geoffrey’s Network Knowledge:
In addition to personal relationships, Pendragon has many old familial ties to noble families in Impiltur and even the royal family of Aglarond.
Pendragon’s refusal to marry and father an heir have earned the private ire of a few royal families who sought to marry into his holdings.
Since Prince Aglarond's arrival in Impiltur, Pendragon and the Prince have been in almost constant contact. The contents of their messages could be determined, but at significant risk to relationship with Pendragon. Awaiting agent approval.

Wotan’s Throne

Lady Katja Endergaard, "Vanguard of the Dawn”
The Endergaard line, much like the Pendragons, dates back to the time of the first human settlers in Faerun. Their seat of power, the magnificent mountain fortress of Wotan’s Throne, is thought to originate from the time of the Giants, and the Endergaards have earned the respect, and fear, of many through their insurmountable defenses of their citadel from those who would take such a prestigious seat for themselves. Lady Katja, who earned early notoriety for tournament success alongside her perennial rival Arthur Pendragon, cemented her place as a fearsome Lady of the Throne when she personally led the defense of gates during the undead plague, and again during the Impilturian civil war when she broke the siege of The Pass in a spectacular sunrise charge. She has also gained somewhat controversial notoriety for challenging any would-be suitors to single combat. She has often expressed dismay at the ramshackle, piecemeal nature of the military forces of Grand Halen. She has publicly stated many times that she believes Grand Halen could be one of the great powers of the Sea of Fallen Stars region if not for the mismanagement of the nations armies, a belief that she has expressed for frequently since the fall of High Imaskar.

Geoffrey’s Network Knowledge:
Rumors assert that Lady Katja, if successful in her campaign, would seek to install her younger sister, Andraste, as Lady of Wotan’s Throne, instead of her brother Janne, who is next in line, but is considered by many as too weak to lead.

Tolbrun

Thane Tymun Hammerhand, Blackhand’s Bane
Tymun Hammerhand has ruled the Dwarven mining city of Tolbrun for centuries, and despite the many turbulent changes the region has gone through in this time, he has managed to retain the city’s distinctly Dwarven identity. Though many dwarves at this point see him as a bit of an old grumbler, and perhaps a bozdoki (one who hit his head one too many times on the pit-props), the craftsmen and miners of Tolbrun are nevertheless majorly appreciative of his ability to protect their markets from becoming flooded with cheaper (but far inferior, of course) human produced goods. This has become increasingly difficult of late, however, as high quality products from the Shou Empire begin to filter in following their occupation of High Imaskar. Thane Hammerhand has promised and end to this, and also that he would seek to maintain Grand Halen’s distinct identity and history in the face of growing regional instability.

Geoffrey’s Network Knowledge:
Rumors abound about Thane Tymun’s mental acuity at his rather advanced age, though so far he has done nothing to forfeit the confidence of his bannermen.
There is a growing group of highly nationalistic supporters of Thane Tymun, known as the Sons of the Mountain, who have been seen to strong-arm citizens of Tolbrun and Brunside into pledging their support. No official connections have been found between Tymun and the Sons of the Mountain, but further investigation is possible, albeit at significant risk to agents. Awaiting agent approval.

Ravenrock

Lady Henrietta Rathbone, the Lady of Twilight
Henrietta Rathbone has quietly ruled over the Glorming Pass for many years, since even before Rognvaldr united the land. She is known as something of a recluse, rarely attending feasts or games held by other nobles, except for those held by house Morgan at Castle Rosewood, directly across the border in Impiltur. Nevertheless, she has meticulously governed her province, personally ensuring that those who serve under her honor their duty to her house, her land, and her people, in that order. This attention to detail and duty has trickled down throughout society in the province, giving people from the Glorming Pass the reputation for being exceptional at their trades, but not very enjoyable company. For many years, she has been patiently requesting an audience with the crown regarding the future of magic in Grand Halen, though every time her proposals were dismissed. Now that the leadership is up for grabs, she hopes she can take matters into her own hands, and establish schools of magic throughout the country, so that Grand Halen might someday rival High Imaskar in its might and prosperity.

Geoffrey’s Network Knowledge:
Lady Rathbone seems to be possessed of unusually long life. It is unclear what her methodology is precisely, although it is rumored that her various court wizards have extended her life using the arcane arts. Further investigation is possible, albeit with high risk to agents. Awaiting agent approval.
