Darien has been reading from his tome he recovered in the funken temple. As we stop, he lifts his eyes from his book and seeing the scene, prepares for battle, grabbing his longsword and shield.

Darien tries to find a wagon which has defensive capabilities. Iron reinforcements, arrow slits, balistae, wheel scythes, etc. I also search for barding for the horse.

Darien looks enchanted by the story of loss and national struggle. He stands and declares, "Vve are moved by your story, vve vvill meet you at the edge of town at first light tomorrow...." Darien turns to walk into the Inn, then turns to address the Vestani leader again, "Losing one's home and... family is a tragedy." He continues walking to the inn and in a distant, disturbed tone reminds, "But be sure to move away from this tavern."

Darien nods his head and moves to confront the loiterers. He puts his armor on, and stands leaning on his longsword, "I am Darien, slayer of demons, pillar of Tempus. You vvill move your gypsy village, or I vvill."

A well-built Aasimar with dark features sat down at the table, though on top of a chest of his belonging and not a seat at the table. He is obviously scarred and weathered from combat, and not merely in the physiological sense. In the moments you have seen him, he has been reading a from a black leather bound book, reading and quickly jotting notes in it; muttering to himself in intervals of apparent disgust or anger at what he sees in the pages. He keeps a chess piece in his offhand and rubs it like it were a worry-stone - a red knight. He has been particularly ignorant to anyone yet, besides answering to Lucien when addressed.

Replying to Lucien, Darien hits the red knight on the table - the piece has obviously been abused and roughly handled for a long time. He speaks in a rough, distant voice, "I am Darien Mazaev. I fought the devil at Narfell; no one survived. I owe Lucien; I will follow him with the utmost fidelity..." he trails off,
"The Devil -- had he fidelity
Would be the best friend --
Because he has ability --
But Devils cannot mend --
Perfidy is the virtue
That would but he resign

Were thoroughly divine"

Darien, looks at something up above and behind Lucien sitting across from him, he talks, seemingly addressing what he is looking at "Yes... that works, hmmm." He jots something down in his journal.
